not bad

You've got the suitable kick there, loads of bottom and a thump. and the use of the snare/clap too.

i think it's let down by a use of a very generic snare, one that belongs to the dance genre more than hiphop. the bass is dark, but again it sounds very generic, same goes with the piano synth, its all very good it just needs some more realistic instrumentation if you know what i mean. But change that snare, it doesnt suit the style at all.

good stuff tho, you can only get better.

i have two new tracks if you want to review em. A Mass of Traffic Up Ahead and Flounder.

Greeksta-69 responds:

all ive been doing is using the same old ass fl samples and now im getting new ones im never going back to those shitty ones lol thanks for he review man

tune fucking tune

wow man, that opening lo-fi synth reminded me of a joy division track called atmosphere. the beat is cool man, great glitching going on, and the strings too are really good. i really like the lo-fi edge it's got about it, even though it retains all its quality. great stuff mate, as usually.

and my download : )

oh i have a new tune, A Mass of Traffic Up Ahead. love to hear your views on it.

StrangeEncounters responds:

Awesome man. I pm'ed Wade to delete this though. Lol.

cool track

this is a nice track nightvision. its not exactly drum and bass but it's close enough, the drums are too light for DNB to be honest. Whats that clicky noise that comes in every couple of bars or so? I don't like it, at all. it's out of sync with everything and feels very random. everything else is jolly good though.

thanks for reviewing my track. I have a new one posted up now. A Mass of Traffic Up Ahead if you get a mo and wanna review it.

nightvision responds:

That clicking is called "clipping", it was not intended to be in there. I accidentally uploaded the wrong version of the song, and i'll be more careful in the future.

That really ticks me off too pitbulljones, but i'm glad you liked the song. If flash users need to use this song, PM me for the better version.

Briiliant

I think you've captured the feel of tankman, really a quality track and this should feature in the flash. tis a bit short though, but hell yea im liking it.

WinTang responds:

Will do!
Thanks for the nice short review to match the song :P

Cool

you've got that military vibe going here aint you. tis a cool track and the arrangement is spot on, i love the way it builds to a cresendo. Classical isn't my favourite style of music but i can enjoy it.

anyways good luck for the MAC

and thanks for reviewing my track.

) : ) : ) smiles

this has to be an aural orgasm of music, all your stuff is brilliant. You are becoming one of my personal favourites and i thinkmany others too. also i think you're onyour way to becoming one of the greats that NG has to offer. i can't fault your music i can't find anything negative to say and its a shame becasue iwant to give you something constructoive to work on. Keep doing what you're doing now, don't chnage it it's nigh on flawless.

again wonderful stuff

for all its lowfi sounds, and spaciousness theres an element of euphoricness abiout this track, one of hope and a look to something brighter. this sort of stuff always helps me get into the mind of the artist who created it. it's a wonderful piece again, a lil on the quiet side but this sems to be quite your style.

well done mate

a wonderful tune, and a well deserved winner of the MAC. The choice of synths, the glitching everything oozes class, which to be honest is what you are. all your music is phenomenol and i am really impressed with the consistant level of your output.

Dude, you made my day. I'm off to your audio page.

wellllllll

i can actually talk now about thinsg i know. both the game and the guitar. right well, it's final fantasy 6 this is from, though in europe and america it's 3. it's a grat interpretation and you've captured the feel of the piece perfectly. nothings out fo place and it's a nice homage to the track.

but.....

your guitar production isn't upto scratch, the chorus'd lead muddles the mix far too much, theres some great sounds on here, but if im right theres two chorus'd guitars playing and when they both play they really collide, you may want to apply a small flange on one of em with a really slow attack. a couple of notes are too quiet and thres a few that are too loud, which may be just a playing fault rather than an intentional decision. the actual technics of yout playing are spot on, nice hammer ons and picking with some nice subtle delays, roll off some of the reverv though and use the delay to add the space that you're after along with an early reflections programme. I've had loads of problesm when i first started recording guitars via a pc over 6 years ago, what will really help is a DI box or a usb fx pedal, something that can get you as clear a signal before further processing.

it's great stuff though and is a very accurate interpretation of the tune.

WinTang responds:

Awesome man, this is just the kind of review I was hoping for. If you've been recording guitar into PC for 6 years, you're the most directly accurate help I can wish for :)
I'll experiment along with all you just said man, keep checking me out once in a while!!

i can't really comment on this

as i don't know the theory of music to talk about the techniques you are applyong here. But what i can tell you is there is a great balance between light and shade, just enough to keep me engaged. the phrasin to is good. though the second phrase sounded a bit off kilter before leading into the fast part (i can't remember the name for the life of me) anyways grat stuff yet again.

btw when are you going to submit summat to my podcast eh? you should definately put something in.

WinTang responds:

Sure you can comment on it... I didn't make it solely for the musical experts :)
The funny thing is that the part you considered out of kilter (another word I had to look up btw... you're good for my English too!) is the real mazurka part hehe - which totally corresponds with what others have said.
Know that I appreciate your input just as much as Simon_F's, although he has a better look into the actual composition - the result matters and should be pleasing to anyone who gives a fuck about classical music.
So thanks a damn lot again!
