good stuff

that wasa solid track there mate, i aint a massive techno fan but it had club stomper written all over it. Most techno would just make me trun green with anger but it was quite a pleasent experience, solid arrangement, identikit beats, it's not a criticsim when i say it follows the formulaic pattern that has defined techno and dance, if you do it good then you do it good, keep it up.

Metalcan responds:

Thanks for the compliments, and thanks for all the nice reviews mate! I'll be sure to review some of your tunes when I have time.

cool man

got something going here mate, great wicka wah going on mate, funky groove and that, shud do a shaft cover lol, nah lovely first attempt keep em coming. fiven

snazzypadgett responds:

Thanks m8 but wha's a shaf cover? lol seiously thans for the review m8

(lol)

ACE

I FUCKING HATE THAT GUY

Khuskan responds:

Agreed.

goodness me

again cool lil track, the arrangment is ace, i couldn't ever be assed to do stuff like this and i aint musically gifted either. the only thing i think may need addressing are the piano in your first phrase and the horn, both sound highly synthesised, also i think the track is missing some bottom end, which i think you could add with another string section on counterpoint to the high strings, possibly....anyways great track.

Khuskan responds:

Well in all honesty, as mentioned in the advert for it, this was an experiment into learning how to use sibelius, so I was focusing on making the music look good, not sound pefect. As for this track itself, its basicaly a MIDI import into Reason with the instruments mapped onto respective NNXT's.

There is a lower end in there somwhere, I just had the cello volume down too low... I'll have the sheets up soon for it.

lovely stuff mate

i've listened to a bit of your stuff, for some reason i never get round to reviewing it, silly me. anyways yes, this track, it's darn good mate.

trance ain't my cup of tea, and i didn't really like the synth part near the beginning, but ur mid-section with the strings and that is really ace, you have some talent my friend, great arrangemnt thorugh out the track, layering of sounds etc etc, i'll have to listen a bit more to ur stuff, and i would think about taking the string section and doing a remix, i fucking love strings. fiven

Khuskan responds:

You have permission to remix if you want, I really don't mind, if my music inspires people, then let them be inspired methinks ;-)

A lot of my tracks heavily involve strings and other orchesteral instruments, because I have classical training in piano, whereas a lot of people these days are choosing to take up jazz based lessons.

Also, as I was learning midi sequencers, the strings were the most realistic sound you could get out of the cheap old 30 quid sound cards, so I sort of overused them in my earlier life. Keep in mind that was when I was about 12-14.

well you've got me now

i'm a fan man, ur stuff totally agrees with how me head works, loevely sound there, plenty of delays and spacialising, suitably dark again but theres something quite euphoric about it but i cant put me finger on it exactly. it has some real potential to soundtrack something in a film this. i'm gonna hve to listen to all ur stuff over the next few days. give u sum more reviews and downloads, but agian have a listen to dj shadow if you havent, u'll find sum solid inspiration from his stuff. 10/10 fivend up

Rucklo responds:

Whohoooo, a fan :D
I´m glad you found the "euporic" parts amongst all the darkness in this song. It´s kind of the point of it all in many ways, the dark vs the more happy/exciting/euphoric. I like dark stuff :)
Well, anyway if you like this kind of stuff I´m gonna have to reckomend you to check out Kingbastard and MyHeadIsABalloon, for loads of KB stuff, you can check him out at www.mixposure.com/kingbastard
That´s one talented guy, that!

Thanx alot for the review man! When i get back to my 6mbit i´ll check your stuff out!!

cool tune

i'm liking this man, the scratching is ace, i love a good scracth man, where are your samples from for the people speaking? the bass is suitably dark, which is always one of the things i look out for in a tune, yea im gonna give u a fiven and download for this. if you've never heard of dj shadow i'd advise you to go have a listen to his stuff u've got a similar style to him and early james lavelle. aka UNKLE. anyways keep it up

Rucklo responds:

Heyy!
Well, to be honest the skratching really sux ass, im not very good at it yet. Buut, just add some delay and echo, and it sounds allright :)
Dark stuff like UNKLE, dj shadow and the likes is an inspiration for the kind of music I want to do, with my twist, of course. My stuff aint sample-based, wich makes it very different in many ways. Its experimental in many ways, well at least for me, wich makes it really fun too!
I got the voice sample from a secret soap-ophera show on TV, recorded with my mic and MD, cleaned it up in cubase, burned it out and skratched it on my CDskratcher. takes a little while, but its worth the effort.
Thanx alot for the review man, ill check your stuff out as soon as i get to a comp that aint connected with dial-up(&/%&*^^*`=?#"

5-bied

need i say more, just given u a score boost.

WinTang responds:

Aww... *smooch*

Are you sure u aint my singer????

mate this is freaky, u sound just like him, same vocal style and everything. i'm gonna listen to ur stuff a bit more, i'm really baffled as to how i ain't listened to u more, u have a really gud and varied style, which is very cool. kudos man, keep em coming, and ur chorus section soundd a bit like placebo or muse, uberness there my friend.

WinTang responds:

Haha, I don't know man, this is not the first time a hint of a "parallel life" reaches me :)
Seriously though, great to hear that I interest you. You're an awesome artist yourself. I may not have reviewed you yet but I will soon, and I'm pretty positive I gave you 5's on several submissions. Hope to hear from you again!

nice tune

i've listened to this before and i don't know why i didn't review it then. anyways, i like it, it's a lil poor production wise but thats only a minor complaint, me singer in me band used to do a lot of stuff like this when he were playing guitar so it rminds of his stuff, which is a gud thing, hes in holland now, you brought him bk for a sec lol.

WinTang responds:

Hehe... thanks for the review. There's almost no production, I just recorded two guitar tracks to CoolEdit - all the effects and settings are from the Boss ME-30... I kinda aimed for the lo-fi sound, though I know that actual lo-fi needs to be produced as well :)

And I live in Holland too! Is he attending education here?
