cool track

im liking this alot mate, the guitar pick is ace, the drums are quality too. and a simple piano part, it all works well, real nice coherence to it. vocals may be an addition, but thats a minor gripe. i'd like to here more of this stuff from you.

i'll be sure to check out more of your stuff.

Thanks for the crit - yeah i have a problem of really liking something im making and just rendering it as soon as i can without sitting on it and adding detailed touches. I'll venture into vocals soon enough hopefully :D

good job

lovely quality on this track, really chilled out, where are them vocals that this track is crying out. The production is amazing, considering it's guitars. The beat is a bit of a let down it just doesn't blend to well with the mix, a choice of better more subtle samples would help, and a brush beat instead perhaps. the guitar layering is good again, i think some ambience synths underneath could push this even further. You should develop this into a full track, add a chorus section and some vocals. I'd gladly collab.

this my friend is 5/5

pitbulljones (indie section) come drop me a few reviews plz.

KRLA responds:

Thanks for this detailed review of my song. What you said about synths make sense. I´m not very good with the program yet so I just made a beat and let the guitar and bass do the work basically. But I´m aware of some of the things you said. I´m moving to study at college soon so I don´t have any recording equips right now but maybe I´ll do a full track of it. I gladly look at your stuff. Thanks for the review.

very nice

you have some nice stuff on here, i like your sound. I'm impressed how clear your guitar is, i always struggle to get a decent sound even tho i have usb fx pedals etc. This is a quality track, nice and chilled out. Has more of an ian brown flair to it. The guitars are really nice the pick is quality and as an actual arrangement it works nicely too. i think if you could develop this track it could be a standout track of the AP. A vocal again would really make this track truly decent. keep up the good work.

pitbulljones (indie section) come give me some reviews. : )

KRLA responds:

I really apreciate your revies. Not only cuz you say nice things but you really give your opinion. I´ll mail you instead so we can talk for real.

not bad again

you should have a listen to some primal scream or beta band it has a similar tone to that sort of stuff. The synth that switches to eother channel is nauseating, slow it down and let it flow between the channels. i like the beat tho, the guitar is really crisp and the chorus delay underneath is really nice to. theres another guitar underneath which is too quiet and panning again, place it to the extrememe of either channel and bring it up in level and it'd help.

again a lil bit of reverb to give the track some glue and some mastering would help.

again 4/5

KRLA responds:

Yepp, the panning of the synth... or the bass wich it really is, could be better. And the FX on the bass is just too much. Haha, the beat is actually sounds I made with handclaps and sounds from my mounth.

nice track

quite njoyed this track, the chord scheme is very nice, your beat is pretty poor tho, sounds like a very generic FL beat. it's desperately crying out for vocals though. it would give the track more coherance, i love that little reveresd noises that pop in every now again. Basically it has the frame of a really great track, it just needs a bit of filling out, some underlying instrumentation, a bit of reverb to hold everything together and a deeper bass. I like it though.

KRLA responds:

Actually I´ve struggled with vocals for this one but it never fit. Maybe I could send it to you and we´ll figure something out. You´re right it´s FL drums, just pitched em out. This song is 'Why?'-inspired so I think I have a completely different view of this track than others.. Haha, with that I meant I like the beat but I understand why you maybe not.

hmmmmmmm.....

its not bad g9. i think you're let down by your choice of vst's, the instruments sound very generic. the actual progressin isnt that bad and as a tune its pretty cool. reminds me of school strangely. the inspiration here is obviously LJC which is no bad thing.

yea its the use of gneric samples really that detracts, the melodies and rhythms are okay in themselves, that bass is obnoxious if you get what i mean. I find when using FL it's best kept for your beat nly, i use cubase you see and reiwre it through. go to www.kvraudio.com you'll find some great plugins that are free also have a search for crystal, it's a synth by greenwood or oakwood cant quite remember.

now to be fair i can't five you, it's really a 2.5 but i'll 3 you.

go give me some reviews please mate. and keep banging em out you can only get better.

G9 responds:

Yeah... I was just starting out, so I went with Producer Edition, or the $150 version. No Sytrus... pretty much no extras. As I progress, I will add on the extra features. But I'm moving off to the Mac platform, so who knows? If only FL Studios was available for the Mac (yeah, boot camp's an option but come on... to reboot every time I want to use one program would be a pain the ass).

Thanks for the review man... I'll be sure to review all of your tracks that I've listened to via the podcast. Thanks for the line!

again not bad

i wouldn't put that as trance tbh, but it's hard to classify, it's either miscellaneuos or weirdly ambient. i can see what you were going for, that sense of emotion. but i feel a choice of instruments has let you down a tad bit, it needs to be darker and have some deep droning pads thrown in as the mix feels a little empty. again though it's not bad.

x-kinetiK-x responds:

Yeah I wasn't exactly sure what to put it as... but miscellaneous just seems bad and it's too active to seem ambient to me.
Like I said in the last review, I may be ramaking this song sometime... I'll keep that in mind if I do. :) I've been searching for some new VSTs/samples... not finding a whole lot, but hopefully I can find some good stuff that would help it out.

Thanks for the review!

chilling piece

it's a bit repetitive but the track has a lot of potential. i think a faster more dynamic beat would help this track move along nicely, say about 3 mins in, add a B section, and more supporting instruments and i could see great things for this track. at the moment it feels like it's an intro that wants to go somewhere else, loud and stomping it's feet when it gets there. very chilling though. nice work.

pitters 4/5

x-kinetiK-x responds:

Yeah I know it's really repetitive, I was trying to re-create a feeling I had more than anything. I actually did start a sort of B section around 3 minutes in, when those drums came in. I was thinking about doing something with strings also. But then I decided that I didn't want to stray too far from the atmosphere I had already created so I took them out again. I would like to take this track further though... I seem to be doing that a lot. Maybe I should take more time before submitting. >_<

Thanks for the review!

nice job mate

thats a pounding beat you've got going there. nice underlying beat, and that lil riffy thing, i can't remember the instrument name, cool. but i think it's relied on a bit too much towards the end. the underlying bass is good. and the lil stringy/horn stabs agian cool.

it just says cool this track basically, get someone to rhyme over the top and it'll be a killer hook.

another nice tune

another nice tune, you have a vocal style i really like, it's not perfect and i don't like perfect but the tone is cool, i think you're let down by recording quality, but capturing both acoustic and vocals is one of the hardest jobs to do right. lovely stuff again, i'll say again about a brush beat and a string section, its crying out for it, in a good way.

xXChrissyXx responds:

Thanks a ton. =D
Yeah, the sound quality isn't the best, and some more instruments might work too, but that's not really an option here at home. =\
