Really nice.

I think tonally you're good. I'd bring the vocal up a bit more and drag the verb back a bit.
It's a great piece, well balanced layering.

You just need final polish.

Really nice. A bit overly reverbed, but it's a beautiful piece of orchestral layering.

Due to the heavy reverb, it makes the mid range muddy, those highs aint getting the shine they deserve.

Thin the low and mid on the piano, low pass the high strings and fix pan.

Composition wise it's great, invokes a sense of heroism.

I am undecided about if I like this. If i am questioning myself then it has to be a negative. It's a bit loud and undynamic, those tom hits i'm not sure.

I just aint that in to this unfortunately.

still a 5

Syntrus responds:

A lot of what I listen to has like no dynamic range.

I think there's a lot of work that could polish this up. You need to pay attention to tonal balance.

I love the track, but most aint tolerating the imbalance.

Put the vocal centre, cut some low on the main rhythm. pan the other parts.

get your timing nailed.

these 7's with some care are 10's. let me help you

ConnorDeVaux responds:

I thought it was okay

Yes.

This is dirty as fuck. Hard beats, dirty saws. Acid.

This is menacing and oozing cool.

brilliant beats.

Yes mate. open with the saw, fuck the bell.

Trance aint my genre, but i know good music when i hear it. There's some subtle 80's house in this mix.

there's a weird compression issue at 1:36. A discernible drop in level, it's probably to do with those heavy snares. fuck knows what is happening there.

it's a bit long for me, this should not be any more than 4:30. That whole drop and beat, it's nearly 2 minutes waiting for the drop.

Tonally, it's all good, selection is appropriate for the genre. There's that comp issue and some fragmentation between sections. That is personal taste though.

5 always

ps

new tune

Midnights-Ocean responds:

Thank for the review. This is actually a relatively old tune. There are a few sections where the levels could use a little more mixing. I didn't have any notable comp on the mains for this one. Been trying to avoid it. As far as drops, this tune never had a drop in mind. The energy of this piece just seems to flow pretty steady most of the time. I guess in that regard it doesn't really follow trance formula too closely.

thanks again. : )

not my genre, but FAR TOO LOUD

etK responds:

Is that a thing??
Joking, but yeah I also planned on reworking this one.

See them peaks. It's too loud. Volume does not equate dynamism.

You have a really good track, but no headroom leaves no space.

Love the 808, the glitch elements, chord and bass is great. redo your vocal cleaner.

you have a beautiful piece that just needs tempering. Im immensely impressed

etK responds:

Thanks a lot for the constructive criticism! I may rework on it indeed, I take the advice. And I'm glad you liked it overall!!

now this is nice.

Your tone is bang on. Your riff hits timing but is off at the start.

Dude, pro tip, NEVER fuck with vocals. Damn, if that vocal was clean with a long verb itd be golden. As it stands it detracts from all your good work. Think joy division not a smacked out billy corgan imitation. Keep everything just play it clean and verb'd.
