oh bro!

This is 94 west side. This is funky to shit. nice bass, solid groove and cheeky chip tones. Imagine easy e on this, some laconic lyrics.

I have personal preference regarding sample/instruments choice, a rhodes would be killer on this. A touch of verb and some mild brightening would go far.

Groovy as fuck.

I love a fucking sine. That vocal is nice. The vibrato section not for me, i hear it. I'd just have it clean then key drop into the slow groove. The drums are a bit 'fruity' they match the tone of the track, but 808's are hard to pull off. The transition is brilliant love the slow groove. I'd take the vibrato off again. I think the track is hurt by it. A cleaner take is where it's at. I love it.

Father-of-Death responds:

thats funny cuz i liked the vibrato for some reason idk im a weird dude

Really nice, bit low muddy. but i love the composition.

Hell yea!

I like. But you have over compressed the track. Just have a redo of the post.

Syntrus responds:

Fuck that over compressed is in. I’m glad it made you say hell yea!

oh yeah boy!

Droney, ambient head space. It's clean, a tad bassy on the low notes, it rides the harmonic and distorted, a bit of gentle filtering should fix it. Do you use an arp to expand the melody or do you just play it?

I say this often but i feel this would benefit from some sort of beat, glitched....maybe.

Reminds me of the headspace during shrooms or meditation just zen.

Midnights-Ocean responds:

Thanks mate! Glad you dig. Yeah I usually do my first rough mix on cans, so I almost always end up with bass that's a tad too hot. I'll tame it next round of polishing.

No arp here. Just me playing and the magic of combining my yw-pulsar drum with the bucket brigade delay and a good reverb. There is literally only one other instrument on this track. A pair of swelling pads from logic's alchemy synth. One for those few low, almost wind instrument sounding notes. The other an airy high pad you here occasionally fading in and out.

lol maybe I'll get popular with the shroom crowd. I like my ambient beautiful, mysterious and free spirited.

Now that is moody.

Piano could be a bit softer, I think it's too heavy in contrast to your support. Keep the bass notes heavy, soften the high notes.

love it.

Nice chord pattern. Very cool. Yea there is a strain on high notes, but an open room resolves that.

The mix is definitely brighter, it could have some minor improvements but this is decent.

Really enjoyed this.
