And here we go again. dynamics

Where's the head room. I give up.

It's fine, a nice track.

Been complaining of lack of dynamism.

Not an issue with you.

Beautiful

it's cool. very 80's v wave. it's stupendously loud though. I never not 5, but christ you need a dynamics lesson.

I never not 5.

this is arse.

yea

Ok. You need to be banging vox out now. Listen to Ian Brown.

I'll give it a go. got lyrics aplenty, but i would request you remove the phased panning synth, if a vocal were to be added, then bring it into an instrumental mid 8.

Syntrus responds:

Does the synth you want gone for your cut come in around 00:26? The Korg Ms20 lead? Would you like the file so we can do a collab? Who is Ian Brown? Do you need it extended? I know nothing of song structure I make fun beeps on my computer. LOL

peaky peaky peaky

nice. (rhino strings?)

you struggle in a similar aspect to me. Step layering. I would suggest you try this without metronome, or a significantly slower one. Just to humanize it a tad. Longer release, slower attack will give it a more natural feel between notes.

Composition wise it's a lovely tear jerker, it swells well and hits peak precisely where it should. The strings are strong but your support lacks expression in comparison, they are lost in the mix. So width would help massively.

You recording orchestral, mix orchestral. Think about panning, placement and verb.

5 btw always

hmmmmmmmmm.

you using c64?

No offense here. I hate chiptune, more specifically new makers.

Yea. nice melody, but you are not keeping to 4 outs, adding a delay and verb too. Not shitting on you. Just trying to advise how a chip works. 4 channels. you want an effect you lose a channel

5 regardless

Astro-reality responds:

Thanks for the advice! I am not really into the chiptune genre but I wanted to try something out with these 8bit plugins which I found. Will keep this in mind for the next time.

niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Clean pick, to delay.

Drums too heavily comped.

Yea there is some mix issues but it's so in my lane. Very pumpkins.

It's an easy fix, we relax the drum. We redo you parts so each lines single take (did you think I'd miss your joins)

Temper it all, expand the drum.

KEEP the bass, it's bang on. just pump it/

Great work. You need a separate heart to produce you

now that i'm not completely exhausted, i can give an actual response now

for the drums, i just slapped some Maximus preset since I couldn't be bothered to actually properly mix/master anything nowadays

hate to break it to you, none of the instruments here are actually recorded.
have you ever noticed that while i specify what software i use, i never specify any hardware? i won't lie, it did start from me messing about on my bass, but i don't have any recording hardware nor do i have any guitars.

but still, thank you very much for the review!
